Over the long run, however, Forbes reports the typical dancer can expect to earn between $20 and $35 per hour. That works out to between $40,000 and $72,000 per year on a full-time schedule.


Regional Variability

Exotic dancers earn different wages depending on where they work. In nightlife hotspots like Las Vegas, incomes are usually substantially higher than incomes in small Midwestern towns. The surprising wage capital of the exotic dancer world, however, might be North Dakota.

The state's fossil fuel boom has drawn thousands of single men to work in oil fields, and many spend big money at local strip clubs. Some North Dakota dancers report making $2,000 to $3,000 a night, according to a 2011 CNN report.
